About the Principal (K-12 school) Position

The Principal is part of a leadership team, which together guides the implementation of the Strategic Plan 2018-2020.

The Principal is a key visionary in carrying the school forward and has executive leadership in supporting the heads in primary and secondary school operations; vision; advocacy; and talent development.

Lighthouse is a young and growing school, with upper secondary grades still in development. Thus the Principal must be a relational person who thrives in a pioneering setting.

This post is currently vacant and ready to be filled. The school is being lead by the two Heads of School, Head of Primary and Head of Secondary.

About Lighthouse Primary and Secondary School

Lighthouse Primary School began in 2009 with an aim to make a great, international-standard education available to families in Mauritius. It is a Christian school in ethos, vision and curriculum, and all of its teachers and staff are Christians, though its students come from various religious backgrounds represented in our country. The school is owned by a charitable trust and 25% of its students benefit from scholarships to attend. The school is distinguished by small class sizes (maximum 20 students) with 2 teachers per class. French is taught as an important second language through daily lessons and incidental conversation.

In January 2015, Lighthouse expanded into Lighthouse Secondary School, starting with the middle year grades and will now be growing into a full K through 12 school, based with a UK curriculum taught from a Christian worldview.

Lighthouse teachers are those who relish learning along with their students and being part of a highly cohesive group of teachers, as well as being an important part of an iterative curriculum development process. Caring, nurturing relationships with students and their families are also cultivated through home visits, special parent programs and good communication.

Lighthouse is a school for everyone. It has a 60/40 local-to-expatriate ratio and enrolls students of highly varied socio-economic, ethnic and religious backgrounds while maintaining its Christian vision and mission. Other Benefits the School Offers:
